Our Wedding at Colehayes Park

Ok, so i really should have written this post a long time ago, but life got in the way! I also planned to not add too many photos, but our photographer Chris Barber did such a beautiful job i find it impossible to narrow down any more than this!
We got married in August 2014 at Colehayes Park, Devon. We had the big house for the whole weekend, so went to town decorating with lots of little touches (and the help of wonderful friends and family).

My clever dad made us these stunning six foot tall light up letters. We had planned to get married in the garden, but on the day it literally poured with rain, so these made an amazing backdrop for the ceremony!

I spent many happy hours hand sewing this sparkly headpiece, to wear with my mums veil. I hope to pass it down as a family heirloom.

 Nerves!

Instead of hymns, the bridesmaids led everyone in a rendition of 'We Go Together' from Grease, complete with impromptu hand jive.

Our parents and grandparents wedding photos proudly on display, showing us how it's done!

I really enjoyed designing all the printed bits for the wedding. Instead of a guest book we gave each guest these cards on which they could share their memories of the day, draw us a picture, and give us their tips for a long and happy marriage. We got some very funny answers!
The favours were fortune cookies in little chevron bags, with mini badges that said things like 'kiss me quick', 'team R', 'team H', and 'Hooray!'

Some of the books on the tables contained hidden treasure....

My mum and i made the cake in the days leading up to the wedding.

A board of local cheeses for the evening feast - look at the excitement on the guests faces!

Phew, if you made it all the way to the end, well done! And if you haven't had enough yet, here's a short video a friend of ours made of the day...

Pool Party On The Roof!

I'm photo dumping! I just realised I got a load of film processed over the summer that I didn't share here. These photos are from a lovely party my friend Polly threw one sunny afternoon on her roof terrace. Pool party might be stretching it a bit...

Turning 25 Part 1: The London Cocktail Club

Hello hello! This weekend i will turn 26, but in typical fashion i am spreading my birthday over three weekends (why not?!) That's because every year the boy takes me away somewhere secret on my actual birthday weekend, so i always have my party the weekend before, and visit my family the weekend after. Three times the fun!

So, for my party i chose to go to the London Cocktail Club. It's owned my super mixologists JJ and James, who won The Restaurant in 2009, and Raymond Blanc.

The drinks menu is extensive and exciting, we were a little disappointed that the rather 'interesting' sounding bacon and eggs cocktail wasn't available that night, but there were plenty more to keep us amused! The cocktails are delicious, made with the highest quality ingredients. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into each and every drink, as they are served in anything from a teacup to a jam jar, with a jammie dodger on the rim or set alight. (There was a LOT of fancy pants fire work going on behind the bar, it was very coyote ugly, and very entertaining!)

The place was rammed, with a great lively atmosphere and a good mix of well known music. This did mean that it took a verrrrrry long time to get served at the bar, but with each drink being carefully and individually made by some excellent bar staff you can't begrudge them that.

At one point the boy got chatting to JJ the owner, who came over and wished me a happy birthday and made me a special cocktail. God knows what was in it but it was delicious. He also put the 5ive megamix on for us - Now THAT's a great party!

Raindance Film Festival Party at Soho House

Lomography are a partner for this years Raindance - Europe's biggest independent film festival. I have been covering various events from the festival in the magazine, and we threw a big public party with them.

Last Thursday the chaps from Raindance held a private party at Soho House for all the partners involved in the festival. There were about 30 people there, including the marketing team from yahoo, lots of film people and Rankin, who shot the festival image.

It was my first time at Soho House, and now I am trying to work out if I can stop eating, and pay for membership there instead? I really like the laid back luxury vibe, and the wine! My close friend Alex is currently over from New York so he came with me- he did point out the genius fact that most of the houses have a gym, so j could just pay for membership there instead of at the usual gym? GENIUS!

My photos are a bit crappy (I was much more interested in catching up with alex than adjusting settings) so here's a googled one just to show you what the bar interior looks like, and how I would quite like my dream house to look!

Have you been to Soho or indeed any of the other houses? What did you think of it?
